The ideal candidate is:

Master's degree student in Computer Science, Mechatronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering;
Develop Web App on tablets/handheld devices;
Develop/Interface SQL server databases;
Be passionate for new technologies related to tablets/handheld devices, wireless connections, stylus pen, OCR applications;
Be proactive and have a positive attitude.
Effective Problem-Solving skills.
Fluent English speaker.

In the framework of the Automatic Handwriting Digitalization Study, the main purpose of the position is to identify the technology which can quickly digitalize handwritten text using handheld devices, recognize the content, correct/convert it and store it in a locale/remote database.

Content of the project:

Support the definition of the architecture of the proposed solution.
Support the definition of the acceptance criteria to identify the most appropriate hardware and software components which will form the solution.
Develop the Web application and the database structure.
Identify the limitations of the proposed solution:
Minimal dimensions of the characters of handwritten text;
Type of stylus having the best performance (accuracy vs price);
Type of OCR having the best performance (time, accuracy vs price);
Guidelines related to how to write the text in a more comprehensive way;
Performance with not-Latin characters set (e.g: Chinese, Arabian, Thai,etc…);
The total time typing the data until the storing in the database, including the time for corrections due to conversion errors;
The total cost of the solution.
Act to improve the solution.
